Pranayama

Pranayama is the formal practice of controlling the breath. Breathing is something we do on a daily basis. The body, in a living state, breathes involuntarily whether we are awake, sleeping, or actively exercising. Breathing is living. It is a vital function of life. Thus our breath is the source of our prana, or life force.

There are various types of Pranayama, and their benefits in daily life are unlimited. Every cell in our body needs oxygen to function properly. So it’s no surprise that research shows a regular practice of controlled breathing can decrease the effects that anxiety, stress and depression have on our bodies. Brian will take you through the different types of Pranayama and help you develop your own practice, utilizing the correct method to harness its goodness.

Meditation

Meditation is a practice where an individual uses a technique – such as mindfulness, or focusing their mind on a particular thought, object or activity – to train attention, awareness, and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state of being. A variety of Meditation techniques will be taught to you and/or your small group. Brian will assist you in developing your own meditation practice that can be used in your home, work, or social environment. Decrease stress, anxiety and depression. Increase your focus, concentration and happiness.

Qigong and Taiji
